I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Washington and I feel grateful that I have been able to provide clinical services to people from all six continents - except Antarctica (penguins definately have done something right by themselves). Currently I am pursuing my PhD. in Psychology. I am a certified AutPlay ® therpay provider and also have additional trainings and certifications in Play Therapy, Couples Developmental Model and Trauma Focused-CBT. I provide support to my clients not only through talk therapy, but also through expressive art therapy models and somatic awareness.
I love working with children 4+, tweens, teens, adult individuals, and couples with 3+ years of marriage.
Clinically, I provide support for depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, ASD, bipolar disorder, sexual trauma in children, internalized oppression, racial/identity trauma, and familial and relational issues. My clinical approach is grounded in neurobiological development, attachment, and multigenerational issues, and my therapeutic approach is based on the client's therapeutic needs.
Now that I have informed you about my clinical strengths, I want to share a secret. I don't think my true strength lies in my clinical expertise! It actually lies in my empathy, my compassion, and my care and respect for my clients. I remind myself to stay culturally humbled and emotionally attuned to my clients and support them to bring their authentic self in the session. Whether you are 4 years old or 54 years old, you deserve the same level of compassion, care and respect and that is what you will get from me.
A few things about me as a person are:
My biggest self growth experience was developing a sense of gratitude. I like to spend my free time with my family. I try hard to make my cats like me (miserably failing). I am a binge watcher of good series. My guilty pleasure is aimlessly scrolling social media when I am exhausted. I enjoy a lot of things in life, but nothing beats a good sleep and good warm comfort food at odd hours.
